About

Here to help you run your own race!

Are you having difficulty finding or maintaining meaningful relationships? Wrestling with self-esteem issues? Tired and frustrated with the search for true happiness and being your authentic self? Do you excel professionally but struggle with feelings of inadequacy in your personal life? Maybe you are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief or an inability to focus. Have you often wondered how lived trauma and/or generational trauma may be affecting you? These are challenges thousands of people face every day. I specialize in multicultural counseling focused on race, cultural identity, immigration, and first-generational issues. One of my strengths is my ability to connect with my clients by being empathetic, honest, and direct. I provide assistance with life transitions, grief, self-esteem, goal setting and achievement. I can help in understanding how systemic forms of oppression affect the mental health of BIPOC communities. Through a trauma-informed approach, I work to validate and process these experiences, while also empowering clients to reclaim their narratives and cultivate resilience. My approach is rooted in cultural humility, acknowledging that each person's experiences are shaped by their cultural background, family dynamics, and societal influences. I work collaboratively with clients to explore the intersectionality of their identities and how these factors may impact their mental health and well-being. As an immigrant from Central America, I am all too familiar with the cultural and sociological challenges that can consume our daily lives. I am familiar with the stigma attached to therapy and the perception of weakness that can be associated with seeking treatment. In reality, true strength comes from the ability to recognize and acknowledge you have a problem and the courage to do something about it. I believe you possess the necessary strength to begin the healing process. Contact me for a free consultation to see if I am a good fit.
